Joo Siah Bak Koot Teh @ Yuehua Market

Hello! I know you must be REALLY HAPPY to see my blog post again within just a short period of time! WOW! JESSIE IS REALLY HARDWORKING this time! Give me a pat on my back!!! (okay, i admit lah, i was cleaning my lap top and found these pictures that i have taken but haven gotten the time to post!)

Okay, you must be wondering, where on earth is this Yuehua Market… none other than Jurong East! Hmmm the market is in between Jurong East and Chinese Garden… So i suggest you either drive, talk a 15min walk, take a bus or … just read my post and drool! (so EVIL!)

Okay, so here am i presenting to you another Hawker Stall that i found, recommended by my boss! Tada~

I seldom eat Bak Kut Teh at hawker centers, nor Char Kueh Teow, simply because i only eat the BEST! (so ya ya papaya hor!!! hahaha…) Okay, till now i only ‘LIKE’ two bak kut teh, one at Balestier another at Sing Ming Road… so this is a NEW stall that i have ‘LIKE’! :) This particular stall is SUPER BUSY during lunch hour, so prepare to wait a little longer… while waiting, while smelling the aroma of the garlic meaty soup!

A little story about Yue Hua Market:

If you have been following the news, yuehua market is one of the very first hawker that adopt the healthier choice of whole grains rice and noodle for some of the stalls. Okay, please don’t expect healthier choice for Bak Kut Teh! Though they do have this hilarious sign board! hahaha…

AWESOME BAK KUT TEH! (Rating: 3.0/5.0)

IMG_0522

Wooohooo! i love my bak Kut with a thin layer of fats! Yes! Else they taste too ‘Ziar’, i don’t like! hahaha… their soup base is very clear, very garlic and peppery, very thin layer of meaty smell… Love it!

Mui Cai / Cai Bei (Rating: 2.3/5.0)

Zhu Jiao / Pork Trotter (Rating: 2.5/5.0)

Bak Kut Teh never completes without this mui cai and pork trotter! They are like the three musketeers, partner in crime to make people fat! hahaha… anyway i think the mui cai is not soft and not salty enough… As for the Zhu Jiao, wha firm and big looking, marinated just nice! The sauce is simple awesome when it goes with the rice! :) Remember to tell the aunty you would like to have more meat or more fats (you know it is actually not the fats but the jiao jin)… :)

Mixed Pig Organ (Rating: 2.5/5.0)

Okay Jian Ren Jian Zhi, i love their mixed organ soup, they actually used the same soup base as their bak kut teh, but with the kidney and lung, they made the soup a little more ‘Xin’ then usual… But still, very clear soup base! NICE!

Lastly, good food must come with a reasonable price tag! (see, i am so good, i don’t just introduce you nice food but food that are friendly to your wallet!) :)

okay, i do recommend this Bak Kut Teh… If you are well verse, there are two different kinds of soup base, one white and one black… I love those white soup base! If i never remember wrongly, the white soup base are the Teowchew style! Peppery and a little garlic makes the soup clear and yummy! :) Come and try this stall! I give thumbs up! But of course my all time fav is still SING MING ROAD! Next time, i shall give a review on that!!! :))
